Because of you, we make a difference!

As a mission-driven non-profit, the Joe C. Davis Outdoor Center and Camp Widjiwagan rely heavily on donors and volunteers to support our efforts in serving the community. Whether you’re bringing your entire company for a volunteer day or donating $5 to our scholarship fund, each and every gift is greatly appreciated and helps us bring kids to camp, expand our program offerings and encourage connection and togetherness outdoors.

If you’re a long-time giver and support of camp, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity. If this is your first time getting involved at camp, welcome! We are so excited to welcome you to the Widji family and cannot wait to see how your support impacts our campers, guests, and community.

WAYS TO SUPPORT CAMP

At Camp Widji, we have the ambitious goal of making camp accessible to ALL, regardless of financial status. With this goal in mind, our scholarship program is one of our favorite things about Widji, as it allows children to attend camp who might otherwise not have the opportunity to do so.

Each year, we raise over $100,000 in scholarship funds to bring kids to camp. Whether you can give $5, $500 or $5,000, we would love if you joined us in making summer camp a reality for ALL kids.

If your company or organization is looking for a fun way to give back to the community and get involved at Widji, we’d love to discuss corporate volunteer opportunities, especially in the spring as we prepare for summer camp! We have a large variety of work projects that need to be done and love to host businesses or organizations to help us with them! Projects range from painting and staining fences to general landscape maintenance to helping prep activity areas.

We believe in dreaming big here at Camp Widji and are constantly working to enhance and expand our offerings here at camp.

Our current project is building 10 new fully accessible cabins. The goal of these cabins is to be the new home for our agency and medical partners, as well as host our year-round family camps.

Fundraising is well underway for this capital project, with the projected cost being $2.2 million. If you’d like to get involved in helping us build new cabins, contact Julie at jblucker@ymcamidtn.org

Beyond providing a rich camp experience for today’s campers, we seek to lay the foundation for those who come after us. By providing a legacy gift, you ensure Camp Widjiwagan's future.

What is a legacy gift?

Legacy donors make their gifts by designating Camp Widjiwagan's YMCA Foundation of Middle Tennessee fund as a beneficiary of their estate.

Your legacy gift helps us ensure campers from all walks of life will be able to enjoy a summer camp experience or sustain Camp operations in perpetuity.

How you can pledge your legacy gift

  • Bequests — Upon the execution of your living will, we will receive a portion as a beneficiary of your estate.
  • Gift Annuities — Purchase a charitable gift annuity, and receive regular income for the rest of your life. The remainder can be designated to the YMCA Foundation’s Camp Widjiwagan Fund.
  • Charitable Trusts — You invest into a trust, and we receive either the trust’s principal or its income as a donation after/during a pre-determined time period.
  • Beneficiary Designations — You designate The YMCA Foundation of Middle Tennessee Camp Widjiwagan Fund as a beneficiary of your life insurance, retirement fund, pension plan or bank account.
