"He told me he was learning about building his confidence and making new friends" —Lynn DiPasquale
"Boredom is never an issue at Camp Widjiwagan." —Gretchen Catron
All activities are designed to provide a safe, supportive environment where children can have fun and learn new skills. Camp Widjiwagan teaches the art of cooperation and the benefits of teamwork through a variety of land and water activities. All overnight campers will have the opportunity to learn to ski, wakeboard or kneeboard.
Experienced staff members provide coaching and individual instruction in all activities, challenging campers to excel while learning new skills.
Brave & Warrior Program
Brave and Warrior campers will travel as a tribe unit, with a schedule tailored to suit their age-appropriate needs. These campers visit all the activities at Camp Widjiwagan, so they will have the opportunity to challenge themselves and discover new interests.
Thunderbird & Chief Program
Camp Widjiwagan's curriculum is designed to provide a safe, supportive environment where children can have fun and learn new skills. In addition to participating in all waterfront activities, Thunderbird and Chiefs campers develop independence by exploring their own interests during each day's land activities. With help from their counselor, campers decide which activities to pursue, working through increasing levels of skills and competence. Progress is recorded as campers learn more and more, carrying achievements over from summer to summer. Self-confidence and good sportsmanship are reinforced through individual instruction and group activities.

Summer camp provides an opportunity for campers to develop skills in activities that will bring great joy and benefits in the years ahead. Our Field Manual and Dog Tag program provides a framework in which experienced camp counselors coach each camper in selecting and setting goals in a variety of land and water activities. Progress is recorded as campers learn more and more, and achievements are carried over from summer to summer. At the family night celebration, campers who earn Dog Tags will be recognized for their achievements.
